ESTABLISHMENT OF THE SPECIAL EDUCATION FOUNDATION

The Special Education Foundation (SEF), which was established on 19th January 2004 by the families of the children in need of special education, has been registered with the Decision given by the Family Court of Nicosia and under the Foundation of Certificate –Charter of no. 2/2003.

Within the scope of the Charity Institutions Law of Chapter 41, and by the Council of Ministers resolution dated 6th July 2005 and of reference number of S-527-2005 and taken through the proposal of reference 925/2005, the Special Education Foundation has been declared as a Charity Institution.

OBJECTIVES OF THE SPECIAL EDUCATION FOUNDATION

-To make all kinds of material and spiritual contributions to the individuals who are in need of special education and to their families.

- To further improve the School of Special Education and Rehabilitation Center already founded and to create an organizational structure that will become integrated with the opportunities of our State.

-To offer the opportunity of special education at world standards in our country to the individuals in
need of special education.

MISSION OF THE FOUNDATION

-To offer a global standard of special education and rehabilitation service to the people of our country through ensuring cooperation with all the establishments and institutions rendering health, special education, rehabilitation and care services within the boundaries of TRNC and throughout the world.

-To be involved in activities in order to procure suitable circumstances enabling the individuals in need of special education to take advantage of their rights to learn and improve their existences materially and morally.

VISION OF THE FOUNDATION

-To stake a claim to the individuals, who are in need of special education and growing up differently and to their families, in TRNC, as from the diagnosis and without giving chance to their being dragged along despair and pessimism.

-To contribute to the solutions that would meet the needs for special education and rehabilitation.

-To set up a special educational system that becomes integrated with all the institutions of the State and, at each stage of the system, by acting with the principle of continuous improvement, continuous development, to upgrade the system beyond the world standards, and also, through institutionalizing these solutions within the facts of the Foundation, to transmit them to future generations.
